Description

Copycat Boston Market mac and cheese is made with rotini pasta in a creamy cheese sauce that’s just like the restaurant’s signature version.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound rotini pasta, cooked in salted water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 15 slices American cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, hand shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat and whisk in the flour. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking continuously. Cook for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the American cheese, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Whisk until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir well to combine.
  5. Add the cooked rotini pasta and gently stir until evenly coated in the cheese sauce.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Freshly shredded cheddar cheese melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of milk or cream to loosen it.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a little milk if needed.
