Ingredients
- For the Bread
- 3–4 medium ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped Oreo cookies
- For the Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×4-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Stir in the vegetable oil, baking soda, salt, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.
- Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar and mix until smooth.
- Fold in the flour until just combined, then gently fold in the chopped Oreo cookies.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled banana bread. Let it set before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas with brown spots for the sweetest flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread soft and tender.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 4–5 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
