- 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peaches, fresh or canned, sliced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in the melted butter, beaten egg, vanilla, and flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
- Toss the sliced peaches with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
- Spread the peach filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal rolls.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spread or drizzle the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh yeast and milk around 110°F for the best rise.
- Don’t over-knead the dough to keep the rolls soft and fluffy.
- Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
- Try apricots, cherries, or berries instead of peaches for a delicious variation.
- Store at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat at 350°F for 10-15 minutes and frost after reheating for the freshest taste.
